Dr. David S. Thompson is the senior pastor of the Good Samaritan Church. He became their pastor in 2010. He was born and raised in St. Petersburg, Florida. He married his college sweetheart - Judith - in 1975.
They have five children. Two of them live in Jacksonville. One son lives in Greenville, South Carolina. One son lives in Atlanta, Georgia. Their oldest daughter lives in Alabama. They have eight grandchildren with two sets of twins.
Dr. Thompson has been involved in the ministry fulltime since 1978. He has pastored churches in New York City (Queens), Cayman Islands (Cayman Brac), upstate New York, and now in Jacksonville.
He has been a professor at Trinity Baptist College in Jacksonville, Davis College in New York, and Global Baptist College in Jacksonville. He is now an adjunct professor at Trinity Baptist College and has been there from 2013 to the present.
Dr. Thompson has degrees from Clearwater Christian College, Biblical Theological Seminary, and Dallas Theological Seminary. His passion is to preach God's Word so that all can understand its truth and so that all will be challenged to put its truth into everyday action.
